賀應藝所許峻誠教授團隊榮獲國際XR(Extended Reality)創作競賽特別獎
應藝所設計實驗室作品「爺爺的新舊時光：用觸覺和VR回憶過去」榮獲2021年《NEWVIEW AWARDS》國際競賽特別獎《Media Ambition Tokyo Prize》
作品名稱：Grandpa’s new old times: reminiscent of the past with haptics and VR（爺爺的新舊時光：用觸覺和虛擬實境回憶過去）

「爺爺的新舊時光：用觸覺和VR回憶過去」是設計與醫護的跨域共創成果。探討的是關於如何運用新科技，使年長者能夠再度回到美好的青壯年時光（高齡者福祉科技的一環）。虛擬實境除了娛樂用途，更可以積極地使用它，透過建構懷舊場景用在失智症的治療上。我們設計的觸覺套件，可加裝於VR 控制器上，增加體驗時的沉浸感。期望在未來能夠讓老人也能在我們設計的系統中得到樂趣和進入遊戲心流。我們用 Unity 開發場景，使用 MAX/MSP 串接 Unity 和觸覺套件的位置和狀態訊號，並且在硬體上以震動產生觸覺錯覺。細心地設計觸覺套件的形狀、重量及模組間的接合方式，讓使用者產生與視覺匹配的觸覺感受。
NEWVIEW國際設計競賽 (The NEWVIEW AWARDS 2021)，本屆共有來自十五個國家、152件作品（AR：43件作品、VR：97件作品、MR/XR：12件作品）報名參加。最終獲獎作品：金奬x1、銀x3、特別獎x5。(取自官網—https://newview.design/tc/awards)
評審對作品意見：
Grandpa’s new old times: reminiscent of the past with haptics and VR” is an ambitious work that opens up new ways to use VR. The “Feeding chickens in VR” by an elderly person showed us the possibility of using VR in the medical field, beyond the framework of entertainment.
In terms of technology, they have succeeded in developing a special device to increase the sense of immersion in the VR world, and they are also conducting joint research with medical institutions, and I look forward to their further development in the future.
